A Christina Aguilera song featured in today’s blog? Uh, not quite. The “something” is love alright. But not of a worldly kind. Ours is the set-free-from-the-flesh love that God the Father longs to communicate to all of His still-struggling children via the Holy Spirit.

Am I a born-of-the-Spirit child of God? If so, then the Spirit does have a hold on me. But could He have more of a hold? Do I want Him to have more of a hold? Will I allow Him to have more of a hold?

Every Christian has the same Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit does not have every Christian the same [1].

A GAME-CHANGING BOOK HAS ARRIVED

In A Way of Escape, readers learn how believers can allow the Holy Spirit to have a greater hold on their lives. Readers learn that this may be all that is necessary to win their war against the flesh. They learn how to step up the degree to which they “walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16). They learn how to build a library of Spirit-anointed, flesh-diffusing apps. Apps that are uniquely fitted to them, and their unique Spirit-filling triggers (Ephesians 5:18b-19).

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

The still-struggling now have another option. The still-struggling now have fresh hope for discovering that long-sought-after way of escape from temptation and resulting sin (I Corinthians 10:13). A way that—because it is wholly Spirit-powered—does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner or group. Truly, a game-changer!

THANK YOU, HOLY SPIRIT!

CONTINUING...

On this same YouTube video, Pastor Savchuk goes on to explain that believers can “know the Holy Spirit more,” not by passively waiting to be filled by the Spirit, but by actively drinking in more of Him:

Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18b) ... The Bible doesn’t say wait for the Holy Spirit to fill you. It says, “Be filled,” meaning it is your choice ... The river is there, you can drink at will ... (But) don’t expect to be filled with your mouth closed [2].

REMARKABLY SIMILAR MESSAGE

A little different wording, but a message remarkably similar to the message that I am communicating in this series of 91 blogs. A series that teaches believers how to renew their minds by dropping the passivity, and actively pursuing more regular relationship intimacy with the Holy Spirit (see www.wileygrafbooks.com/news/drop-the-passivity-v9).
