COVID-19. The last few years unfortunately illustrate yet another advantage of the Way of Escape Battle Plan. The strength of flesh-starving accountability-based purity programs lies in their face-to-face small group meetings. Face-to-face meetings that must shut down during a pandemic. The Way of Escape meetings have two participants: (i) the person wanting to quit porn, and (ii) the faceless Holy Spirit. In the Way of Escape Battle Plan there are no face-to-face meetings to shut down.
COVID-19: WREAKING HAVOC ON ACCOUNTABILITY-BASED PURITY PROGRAMS
Small group meetings are the cornerstone of flesh-starving accountability-based purity programs. I can only imagine the havoc created by the pandemic. These are, after all, sexual purity accountability group meetings. Deep down, very few of the men in these groups really want to be at these meetings. The pandemic gives many of these men another reason to quit or pause.
Strong groups will likely continue to be strong. But when my sexual purity is dependent on face-to-face meetings with other flesh-and-blood men, it is bound to suffer when those meetings are stopped. My sexual purity is bound to suffer when I am no longer meeting with my group of look-me-in-the-eye-and-tell-me-you’ve-been-clean-the-last-week guys.
COVID-19: NO IMPACT ON THE WAY OF ESCAPE BATTLE PLAN
The Way of Escape Battle Plan relies solely on the Holy Spirit for deliverance from lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Participation in a flesh-starving accountability group is not required. The Way of Escape Battle Plan is pandemic-resistant.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
A GAME-CHANGING BOOK HAS ARRIVED
In A Way of Escape, readers learn how to build a Pandemic-Resistant Battle Plan. Readers learn how to walk sexually pure again—not by starving the flesh—but by stepping up the degree to which they “walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16). They learn how to build a library of Spirit-anointed, flesh-diffusing apps. Apps that are uniquely fitted to them, and their unique Spirit-filling triggers (Ephesians 5:18b-19).
The still-struggling now have another option. The still-struggling now have fresh hope for discovering that long-sought-after way of escape from temptation and resulting sin (I Corinthians 10:13). A way that—because it is wholly Spirit-powered—does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner or group. Truly, a game-changer!
THANK YOU, HOLY SPIRIT!
