The Bible is for our instruction. There is nothing new under the sun. Every contemporary issue has a Biblical Precedent. We might even come to expect that many of the same issues that surfaced in Biblical Times might surface again today.

We expect that persons today might still need “ears to hear” to comprehend things spiritual because persons needed “ears to hear” to comprehend things spiritual in Biblical Times.
THE NEED FOR “EARS TO HEAR” TO COMPREHEND THINGS SPIRITUAL
In Biblical Times, Jesus spoke of the need for “ears to hear” to comprehend things spiritual (Matthew 13:13-16). Today, in the war against the flesh, there is still a very real need.
With the best of intentions, most builders of Bible-based purity programs insist that flesh-starving accountability is the addict's only way of escape from addictive lusts of the flesh. But Scripture teaches that there is another way of escape. A wholly Spirit-powered way (Galatians 5:16).
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
Has having found one way of escape dulled the hearing of most builders of Bible-based purity programs? Has having found a flesh-starving way of escape resulted in most no longer having “ears to hear” of another wholly Spirit-powered way?
